History has seen a myriad of musical acts that changed the music industry. One such dynamic event was the Woodstock Festival 1969. Also known as the Woodstock Rock Festival, the musical event was held at Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York that attracted over 400,000 audiences. It was known as a massive period in the history of music that was a certified almighty smash, especially amongst the counterculture generation! Its massive success propelled the directing of a documentary called “Woodstock”, which showcased the iconic acts of the festival.
The enthralling Woodstock festival was known for its terrific line of performers who took the world by storm. Over its 4-day course, the festival saw 32 acts that were performed by musical giants like Richie Havens, Ravi Shankar, Santana, Tim Hardin, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Sweetwater, Arlo Guthrie, Jefferson Airplane, and many more! The festival’s encapsulating stage presence and its magnetic aura earned the attention of Rolling Stones. In 2004, the American magazine referred to the event as one of the best “Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll”. It received the 19th rank in a total of 50. By 2017, the festival location found itself in the list of the National Register of Historic Places.
