Why Visit Spread Eagle Waterfall?
Local Legend
According to local folklore, the Spread Eagle Falls is associated with a tragic love story. The falls, also known as Sati Falls, is named after a woman, Ka Liar who is believed to have drowned in the falls.
Her heart belonged to a brave warrior, and their love for each other was the stuff of legends. However, fate had a cruel twist in store for them. A tragic incident led to the separation of the lovers, with the warrior being called away to defend his kingdom.
The locals believe that Ka Liar's spirit resides in the falls, and her tears continue to flow in the form of the cascading water. The spread-eagle shape of the waterfall is often interpreted as a symbol of her outstretched arms, reaching out for her lost love.
