- Umiam Lake – With a backdrop of the hills, it offers a picturesque view of the beauty of Meghalaya. Located 15 kilometres north of Shillong, the crisp breeze from the valleys will instantly make you feel refreshed. You can also go speed boating across the lake.
- Elephant Falls – 12 kilometres from the main city, Elephant Falls is a tourist spotyou cannot miss out on! The multi-tiered waterfall has an easy walking trail and stairs for you to explore and view the waterfall in all its glory!
- Shillong Peak – if you want to witness the beauty of Shillong, then this spot is the one for you! Shillong Peak, also called Laitkor Peak is 20 minutes drive from the city. For the ones who love a good trek, you can take the cobbled road up.

- Nohkalikai Falls – Located in the East Khasi Hills district, is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. It is one of the most photogenic spots of Sohra. You can take the trek down to the clear blue-green pool of the falls.
